LA AFERRA were a Polish hardcore punk band active in the second half of the 90’s. They were known for their uncompromising pro-ecological views, which were often reflected in their lyrics. They were fascinated by slower riffs and their music was often characterised as heavy and atmospheric. They introduced a doze of tribalism in their songwriting, and singing often took form of recitation. They were also very active gig and release wise, having left a number of tapes and records as their artistic output. Their break up left a large hole in the Polish punk scene.
LA AFERRA early releases could only be purchased second hand and also on tapes mostly, that is why Nikt Nic Nie Wie and DIY Koło Records are now offering a double LP release of their recordings from 1994 (W naszych nagich twarzach) and 1996 (La Programo). So if you haven’t had a chance to check out LA AFERRA this is your chance now to see how diverse punk in Poland was.
